Zanya - Dreadnoks / G.I. Joe
Here’s another piece adapted from a commission done for a long-term client. Zanya is the biological daughter of Zartan, and joined him in the Dreadnoks group alongside her aunt, Zarana, with whom she enjoyed a contentious relationship at best. The original Zanya figure was a choppy Zarana repaint, and when I set out to do this illustration, I definitely toned down and stylized her ‘Dreadnoks concert t-shirt’ situation, added some piercings and more defined dreadlocks, and tweaked the color scheme. Also big knives because who doesn’t want to see a Dreadnok swinging a big knife around?
