Rogue Happy New Year 2019
Most years I try to do a New Years celebratory pinup piece, and they often include a little Chibi New Year Cherub type character in the corner. It’s a thing. Anyway, for several years I’ve done versions of Rogue for this ongoing project… and before that, I did a Cryptohistorical Redesign of Jean Grey. So, this year, I took that approach but for the Rogue series. I tried to tackle the 90’s version of the character with the leather jacket and all of the green and yellow going on. I gave her a bit of the stocking sneak but otherwise kept her covered up as per her power issues, and used bandanas and scarves to bring in some of the yellow accents. I don’t do colored leather that often but I wanted the laced-up corset to have the green and not reinforce the browns of the rest of the tooled leather. The cherub is a Hellfire Club minion, by the way.
