Phoenix Happy New Year 2020
This year, we returned to the Marvel pinup series for our Happy New Year pics... though while in previous years we were focused on a single character, this year we chose different characters from the world of the X-Men. This is Jean Grey as Phoenix, with a chibi version of Juggernaut standing in for the NYE baby. Hard to believe, looking back after all these years, she wasn’t long in the Phoenix look before the whole Dark Phoenix descent took hold. For me, the winning detail on this piece is finding a way to incorporate the new year imagery into Juggernaut with mangled steel. Cracked me up. Have a safe NY and a prosperous 2020!
