Jun Civilian [Gatchaman]
Jun from Gatchaman, or Princess from Battle of the Planets, was my favorite of the team. Animation of the day being science fiction based meant that it felt timeless and otherworldly, at least to my young eyes. But then there was the civilian clothing situation, in which the team wore matching 70’s striped bell bottom outfits with consecutive baseball jerseys. Watching this in the early 80’s my brain was struggling. Now I look back on it all with the same lens of nostalgia. Plus, you know I love melon. There is a companion piece of her in action uniform available as well, and these were commissioned as a pair.
