Daredevil [MCU, Season 02]

from $8.00

I was in hog heaven during the Daredevil Marvel/Netflix series… this vision for Matt Murdoch and the approach to his costume evolution just blew me away. When Season 02 introduced us to a slightly refined and ‘hardened’ suit for Daredevil playing off of the design at the end of Season 01, I was overall excited about it but a bit disappointed at the dark maroon armor plates and how much black was present. I understand there have been, and would subsequently be, multiple versions of a red and black DD suit in the comics, though for the show’s designers I think it was a nod to his black ‘year one’ look and adding the classic DD colors and elements without going too ‘comic book’ with it… which is the pratfall of so many live action adaptations that are afraid to use color. Anyway, when I set out to draw it, my only real change was to give the entire suit the saturated blood red that I wanted to see in the show. This is my favorite Daredevil piece to date, honestly.
