Captain Britain + Meggan [Excalibur]
Captain Britain and Meggan were an oddly consistent power couple in Marvel comics in the 80s. Being the UK team, even when Excalibur was formed and folded heavily in as an X-Book, there didn’t seem much early interest in causing romantic conflict there. I just remember Alan Davis loved drawing her prancing around in pointed toes with a wavy mane of strandless hair. Captain Britain’s costume was an even better design than Captain America (whose costume evokes Puerto Rico by accident) though I was tired of the Braddocks long before they returned Betsy to ‘pasty Brit’ form. Anyway, here comes Kurt Wagner to mess them up.
