Baroness Reader [G.I. Joe / COBRA]

from $8.00

I love Baroness. Brunette with glasses, but armed to the teeth and in skintight leathers. That subversion of the 'librarian' trope in the animation early on interested me. At that time, I hadn't seen any character in glasses given a position of power. Even Clark Kent ditched his before leveling up. The closest we had was Velma in Scooby-Doo, and even then, she was somewhat marginalized as the nerdy girl with Daphne being the more 'attractive' one. Anyway, that's all to say, she looked cool and could kill me. This piece played up the librarian chic aspect of her image a bit. And by the way, I love librarians too. They are generally bad ass.
