I wasn’t reading the Spider-Man books at the time, though I had some ancillary connection to this storyline through the Thunderbolts and general nerd news. The fusing of the Symbiote to a military-trained tactical agent was a cool concept. I like the design a lot, and I appreciate any way to take the Venom thing back from just being giant hulking mouthy messes. A friend of mine’s friend found me at a show and was wearing cosplay of this and it was quite a shock when I pulled this piece out to show him.
